Executive Committee

The IFFS Executive Committee provides day to day management of the IFFS activities, offers strategic leadership and regularly reports to the IFFS Board of Directors. Meeting regularly, the Committee plans, monitors and evaluates progress towards the IFFS strategic goals and initiatives, offering periodic and timely feedback to the IFFS full Board.  It also addresses any urgent issues between full Board meetings.

The IFFS Executive Committee is responsible for overseeing the implementation of Board policies, development of operational plans, policies, procedures and budgets, advising the Board on the establishment and maintenance of good governance practices.

In fulfilling its mission, the Executive Committee gives consideration to upholding the integrity, brand and reputation of the IFFS, planning of the Federation’s future development and balancing the interests of various stakeholders.

Immediate Past President Linda Giudice

Dr. Giudice is a biochemist, gynecologist, and reproductive endocrinologist whose research focuses on environmental impacts on reproductive health, steroid hormone signaling in human endometrium, endometrial-placental interactions, endometrium as a mucosal tissue, and translational applications of human embryonic and endometrial stem cells. Her clinical interests are endometriosis, infertility, assisted reproduction, and implantation and ovulatory disorders. She is director of the Center for Research on Origins and Biological Consequences of Human Infertility and the UCSF Women’s Reproductive Health Research Career Development Center.

President Elect Marcos Horton

Dr Marcos Horton graduated in Medicine at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. He first trained as an ObGyn at the British Hospital in Buenos Aires and later as a postgraduate fellow in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Huntington Reproductive Center and Huntington Memorial Hospital, Pasadena, California.

From 1998 to 2007, Dr Marcos Horton worked as Medical Staff at the Fertilab Reproductive Medicine, Buenos Aires and is now, since 2007, Medical Director at Pregna Medicina Reproductiva, Buenos Aires.

Dr Marcos Horton has a solid experience in Clinical Infertility, Assisted Reproduction, Ultrasound and Reproductive Surgery.

Dr Marcos Horton is currently President of the Scientific Committee of the Sociedad Argentina de Medicina Reproductiva (SAMeR) and is on the Board of Directors of the International Federation of Fertility Societies (IFFS) since 2010.

Dr. Rishma Pai is an honorary consultant Gynaecologist at the Lilavati, Jaslok and Hinduja Health Care Hospitals, Mumbai. She has been in private practice since 29 years.

She is the only Indian to have served as President of all the three leading gynaecological, infertility and endoscopy organizations, The Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI), an organization of 35000 gynaecologists from India, The Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction (ISAR) and the Indian Association of Gyanecologial Endoscopists (IAGE).

Appointees and Advisors

The IFFS takes pride in seeking the wisdom, advice and support of a global community of experienced individuals.  Such IFFS appointees and advisors have the role of making recommendations to the Board as well as help in promoting the policies implemented by the Federation.  They participate at regular Executive Committee and Board meetings providing corporate memory, expertise and resources that help the leadership team make decisions.

We are grateful for their continued support and voluntary contribution which helps the IFFS proactively identify opportunities, challenges and propose solutions towards delivering its mission and vision.

The strength of IFFS lies in the ability to integrate this help within the day to day running of the Federation.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors are the governing body of the International Federation of Fertility
Societies, providing the organization with strategic direction and purpose.  The board sets
long-term goals and oversees the organization. The IFFS Board of Directors is elected by and
accountable to the IFFS General Assembly and consists of 7 Officers and 9 regular members
each representing an individual National Society.
The IFFS Board members have a fiduciary responsibility to act in the best interests of the
International Federation of Fertility Societies and must be willing to act quickly and
responsibly to uphold good governance standards. The Board of Directors determines the
actions and expenditures necessary to achieve the objectives of the Federation.
The IFFS Board meets twice yearly.
